I have an outdoor tortoise shed and I placed a Kane mgr. heat mat in the bottom http://www.kanemfg.com/ is easily cleaned with a hose and scrub brush. It keeps everything at 30 degrees above ambient. This is sufficient for where I live. The shed is open and the two Sulcata tortoises can get out if they want to cool. They are warm to the touch and heat evenly, better than a heat lamp. I'm just looking for any input from anyone having knowledge of these.
