You silly tortoise.
So, as most of you know, I follow turtletary's redfoot diet, and I do not sway much from it EVER because it REALLY works for Stag. But on his one-day-a-week protein day, I like to vary it up for him occasionally.
I had to get my dog some more dog food the other day, so while I was there, I picked up some cans of this Tiki Cat cat food that is 100% meat (tuna) and 17.1% protein (that's in WET form, though, that equates to way more protein if converted into dry form) which is a REALLY high meat protein.
They're little 2.8 oz. cans, and I figured if he didn't like it, I'd just give it to my dog as a topper on her dog food (that little amount won't hurt her) as she'll eat ANYTHING.
I also picked up some 100% buffalo and 100% green tripe to try on him. Will he eat them? Oh hell, I do not know. But if he doesn't, I have the tried and true dry cat food for him, and my dog will eat whatever is left in the can that he won't touch.
So, I gave it to him today. Not sure he's totally hip on the idea of it, but he ate a little bit of it. I'll see if he'll eat the rest tonight (as he always finishes at night what he doesn't in the morning), and if he doesn't eat it, I've got other options for him.
I snapped some shots of him eating.
"NOMMIEZ"
"K, so I like little bitz"
Then he stops to pose for the camera.
"I don't know 'bout this stuff, hooman."
BIG BITEZ!
"This schtuff iz a little bit alright"
Food avoidance shot.
Another food avoidance shot (because it's not good enough to head butt it 828393 times, he has to turn his nose up at it).
And when the food doesn't fight back?
Why, he simply goes off to hang out in his jacuzzi.
Frustration with the fact that the food is not quite what he wants.
You cannot eat the dish, Stagger, you silly tortimus!
