Hi guys, it has been 5 days since I put my last coat of water based polyurethane on my tortoises enclosure, and I know that I have to wait at least a week for it to off glass and air out, but can I put it in the same room as my tortoise is currently in 2 days before it is finished off gassing? I always want the safest for my tort, but I can't carry the enclosure by myself up three flights of stairs, and my family who is visiting this weekend are leaving today. So can I let it off glass inn the same room as my tortoise, but only for 2 days? Also, should I go by time or smell to tell when it is done off gassing?

It will still smell some even when completely safe. It should be fine in the room now if it has had 5 days at 60f and above

@Markw84 I am not sure it was over 60 degrees. It was in our basement for 5 days where it is maybe in the high 50s. It did have a fan blowing on it 24/7 if that helps.

Read the directions in the can. All paints have instructions on the temperature range in which the paint can cure properly
