I’ve noticed some cuts around my tortoises neck it’s also pretty red ? Is this normal ? I put some antibiotics on the cut with some q tips ! There’s no way she can cut herself in the cage bedsides there’s no sharp edges anywhere

It is probably due to the skin on the neck getting impaled on the sharp edges of the right and left first marginal scutes which are often quite sharp when the tortoise extends and then retracts its head. You can take an emery board and file them down a bit to make them less sharp.

Thank you so much I’ll try that , she’s been eating well n walks around normally so I hope it’s just the shell scratching her
