I'm looking for a substrate that can hold humidity well and it won't smell really bad I was trying new substrates and some of them were smelling really bad that my mother would force me to throw it out

Keep the enclosure in your room, and put up an air freshener. ;)

What smells bad to your mother may not be an offensive smell to others. I like the 'earthy' smell of my tortoise's substrate.

Same here I like the smell of plantation soil but my mother dosent she prefers the coco husk substrate in my opinion drys out very quick and even if I spray it it ends up drying out withing a day or hour

To keep substrate moist, spraying is not enough.

You need to tip water in from a jug and mix it thoroughly with your hands until it is all evenly damp.

Spraying just slows the rate of drying.

It will dry out too quick if it's not deep enough. It needs to be at least 4" deep

Eco earth but if you really want a non smelly one, try ReptiBark from your local pet store or you can get it online
