New Tort Owner

Hi my Name is Clayton and I am a new red foot tortoise owner. I picked up my tortoise at an expo around two days ago. Bolt is around two months old. The only question I have is if it is normal for my baby tortoise to hide almost all day until I bring him out so he can eat and drink?

Hi and welcome! Bolt is sounding pretty normal to me. Remember he has just gone through a rough weekend with travel, huge strangercreatures staring at him, leaving everything he knew to come home with you, ect. In nature the little guys have to stay hidden in order to survive, because everything wants to eat them. Give him some time to feel secure and he will start being more outgoing. Meanwhile double check you have his enclosure set up properly, as that will be one thing that can cause delays in him feeling safe and secure.
