Hello Malissa welcome to the TFO
I don't like to make the choice for you .
But let's see if I can help ? Do you want someone's problem , do you want
The damage someone has caused to this poor sad untrusting tort that may need a lot of Vets care and for all this
You can look back on with pride and pat your self on the back in the future
Or do you want the best you can
Buy ? But remember your the one that
Knows you the best

Well I believe in adoption, money is only money. I adopted two dogs from a local rescue group, and I know first hand about spending tons of money at the vetsoffice on my animals and I would not change it for the world!!! But i have a couple of months to find the right little guy for me. I'm looking to get one my christmas...

There are many possible adoption scenarios that have very healthy animals in them. I have been to a few folks homes who run 'rescues' and the animals were all fine. Sulcatas and whatever your local legal-to-own animal may be the most prevalent, but even sorta rare tortoises have shown up in different adoption/rescue programs. Not best to count on it, but it is possible.

Then again, many folks sell them for prices ranging from not so much, under $85.00 each,
to $5,000.00 each by TFO's often contributor JD "N2TORTS".
