Hi to everyone! I'm new to the forum and to the hobby! I'm here to learn more about tortoises. Planning to adopt one next month.

Here is the caresheet for them if you haven't found it yet
They are a good choice, they stay small, but they like to roam, but it's all in the caresheet
@Tom is the expert on them

Welcome! A quick heads up. Don't but your tortoise from a pet store if you were planing to because they almost never know anything about tortoises. And they sell unhealthy tortoises.

Depending on what species you want. There are members here that can suggest the better breeders.
The problem with pet store bought torts is they generally are not kept properly.
You could buy one from a pet store and end up with a sick tort. Or if not raised correctly from the start. The tort could have damage internally that shows up later. Either way you might lose your tort and then deal with that heartache.
If you are someone who wants to rescue a tort from a pet store and willing to take a chance. You just might save a tort.
