New owner of a russian tort

Hi! Im felix. Recently added a russian tortoise to our family. his name is Boris and is really friendly. I got him about a week ago. I love animals and have never been without one. Currently I have a special needs shar pei named Chicago. Hes a rescue dog with multiple genetic health problems.

Anyway, Boris and I have been getting to know eachother thru sun bathing in the front lawn and his baths everyother day. He is friendly and is very curious whenever i put something into his space.

Ill be on here learning all i can about caring for him.

It is a good idea to only have Boris outside in a secure enclosure. Russians are expert at escaping; they are excellent climbers and diggers. They are also quick on their feet.

Too many Russians disappear because their owners are distracted for a fraction of the second, maybe by their cellphone or someone calling them in for a meal!
