My eyesight is not great and we have a problem here with photos at the moment, but the shell seems fine to me.
The care for Testudo graeca and Testudo horsfieildii is essentially the same, so shouldn't be a problem.

Clear eyes, clear nares (nostrils), alert, walking well with shell not dragging, shell hard, no wounds or swellings or oddities - that's what to look for. In the photo, it looks fine, but you have to see it close up.

There's no way to tell the age. It's young, that's all that's possible to tell.

It's unfortunate if they haven't kept it right, but you can change that. Don't take pet store advice or feel you need to do what the current owners have done.
