Hey guys, I recently picked up my new friend Franklin, will be a year old next month. How does my set up look?
The warm end is about 100'F and the cool about 80'f
Is there anything I should or should not be doing? Please
Let me know guys

Ps. Excuse the fingerprints on the glass [emoji39]IMG_20190624_212916.jpeg

Hello and welcome [emoji1]

what species? Hermans? Greek?
What substrate do u use?
Substrate looks very dry

If u use stones make sure every single stone is big enough to not be swallowed by ur tortoise

What kind of bulbs u use? They look like spot? Spotlights should not be used they create too much heat in a too small space

Personally I would add sight barriers so ur tortoise cant look from end to end this will let ur tortoise think she has more room

I would also change the water bowl to a terracotta dish

More experienced tortoise owners will shine in pretty soon I'm sure to give u super advice [emoji2]

U can also check the species specific section on this forum to find super good care guides

Enjoy ur new family member [emoji217]

Thanks Mario
Baby Herman he's about 65mm long.
I use prorep tortoise life substrate and straw bedding. To start with I only had a slate path and border around his water bowl, but he seems to enjoy the slate so I spread more over the tort life substrate. And there are just 40w basking bulbs, I was recommended 60w but they was just toooo hot.
Barriers are in the making, I will be making mini fences with bamboo canes or maybe just some rocky boulders :)
