I have 3 gulf coast box turtles. I had an ornate box turtle, decades ago....these seem the closest to that I’ve found. I wanted turtles that I could keep outside and they would hibernate. I’m the thinking about getting a Sulcata or two. I’ve been reading about them, some.

Welcome. Would love to see your Boxies. Tortoise should not be kept in pairs. So get one sulcata or if you have a huge yard space, acreage, get three or more. Keeping in mind they may still need to live in their own space.

Oh, new to me that they are better as singles. I’ll try and post a pic of mine.
