I'm seeing a small bit of a notch between the scutes. If each layer of growth continues that way, you will end up with at least some degree of pyramiding. I'm not saying its time to panic, but I would re-evaluate things at this point and make sure everything is how you want it. It is very slight right now and that's why I mention it. It is much more difficult to deal with once is farther along. If the right action is taken now, it can be completely halted now, before it does develop into something. You may already be taking the right action.

How long have you had him? This might have nothing to do with what you have been doing with him and instead be a result of his care before you got him.

I've had him since he was 3 months. So for about a month and a half. His diet is mainly romaine lettuce mixed with broken up hay pellets and 2 mazuri pellets and a little bit of calcium. I can't get him to eat anything but romaine =(

tough love. if you dont feed it, he cant eat it... start cutting back on the romaine and feeding more weeds or spring mix.

I tried feeding him only grass but he wouldn't eat the whole day. I used to give him baby spring mix packages from the store, but I heard it was bad. Help.... I want my baby to grow up big and smooth.

Weeds and grass are best, but spring mix and other grocery store greens are fine too.

What kind of hay pellets? Timothy? Alfalfa? Most young torts won't eat dry hay or hay pellets. Here's how I like to keep them:

There is a whole section on diet in there, and following this care sheet has helped me and many others grow them up smooth.

Personally, I would not feed Mazuri every day. I think its a good PART of a balanced, varied diet, but I would not use it every day.
