Any suggestions to making this enclosure better for my three EBT's? ImageUploadedByTortForum1374172599.007460.jpgImageUploadedByTortForum1374172660.403011.jpg

How tall are te sides? Assuming your putting substrate in it, doesn't look like those sides are high enough, the dimensions tho look good. I use about 7-8 inches of substrate box turtles love to dig and will burrow if try want. Also deeper substrate helps keep humidity up. It looks good. I would also make the sides solid. If a box turtle can see out he will more then likely try getting to the other side. They are very good climbers as well

Ps they might be high enough It's hard to tell in the pictures.

You can keep them outside in a partially shaded area but they can dig a bit deep. They are climbers and as someone mentioned their substrate is about 7-8 inches. So I would make the wall taller than that. Bendable, not so sure. I stuck with wood. Good luck. The other guys on here can help you out too.

Don't forget to water proof the wood or else it will mold. Looking good, can't wait to see the finishing product.

UPDATE: made it taller, Woohoo! Hard work is done. Does the finish chemicals painted on the wood pose a threat to the turtles or no? I haven't painted yet, debating on a plastic on the bottom or the paint. Thanks for the feed back!!

I've used urethane as a water sealer for my indoor enclosures and have not had a problem. I use 2 coats and allow 3 days for curing after the final coat.

Others may have different solutions so stay tuned.

Nice job on the enclosure.

That looks great. Also It would be great for most tortoises.

The dimensions are 32 by 80, 18 inches tall. The bottom is actually a sanded wood door with no knob hole or anything from Home Depot. I also added wheels for easy movement. :D Copy away! It's awesome!

Great layout! I will probably add plexiglass on the top screens to help keep humidity and heat in. Thanks for some great ideas!

I live in South Florida so the plexiglass would be way too hot for my babies.
