The whole enchilada!

Both are beautiful babies BUT I totally and completely agree with Angela. Separate and keep them separated. Separate everything. Never mix continents. One has one set of bugs, bacterias, the other may have a different set. They can possibly make each other sick, or they could possibly end up goners.
I know they are probably captive bred, but still. In the land of tortoise keeping, never gamble is best, in my opinion.

Your CDT baby is so dark. Look how cute his little leggies. I love seeing all the different shell colors and always wonder if they are from a desert tortoise locality up high? down low? in our lovely deserts. Congrats on both your little cares.

Read all about how to raise your tortoises as babies. They are quite fragile when brand new to the world. Knowledge is power! : )

from one of my friend who is a breeder :)

A breeder, a CDT breeder??? Completely not a good thing, nor a desirable set up for the species...close to illegal actually.

dont panic, they are just together for the picture

You see, the problem is, that the most slight mistake can cause the death of one or both of those beautiful tortoise...so panic is reaction of passion..but to each their own...again, lovely torts.

Hi Enchilada:

I'd say your new CDT is about a year and a half old, two in September (when they usually hatch). It's a very pretty tortoise. I think you're going to enjoy the heck outta' him. They're much more personable than the star tortoises.

Be sure to soak your baby daily for at least 15 minutes (he looks on the dry side, eyes a bit sunken). I have three of them exactly your baby's size/age. Great little tortoises. I just love them.
