new baby redfoot- a few questions

That looks awesome! hopefully one day I'll be able to build something similar. I got the humidity up in the 80s after work, right now the enclosure is only half covered and its seeming like that is my issue, especially when the windows are open...I had a thought this afternoon about the possibility of attaching another storage bin on top of the one I have now to make it enclosed but I'm a little confused/concerned on how to do the lighting so it isn't a fire hazard with getting the plastic too hot? Or would getting a bigger piece of plexiglass suffice?

A piece of plexiglass would probably work, just cut a hole in it so the light and heat can go through it. Just make sure it won't flex.
