Hi everyone, this turtle (3 toed box turtle, I believe?) is at a pet store. I can't identify what is wrong with his shell. From googling I was thinking maybe it is scars from healed shell rot? Someone else suggested a yeast infection but I can't find anything about yeast infections in turtles. I see a lot of posts about fungus (which yes, I know yeast is a fungus, but everything I'm reading only says fungus and doesn't specify candida) but it looks different to me than this photo. I'm just not sure. Can anyone tell what is going on with this shell? I thank you for any help you can provide.

It was chewed by either a dog or some type of predator with the same kind of teeth...coyote, etc. If it were a raccoon, the turtle would be missing all its inside parts and only a shell remains. I know this one first hand! It is old damage and not causing the turtle any pain or discomfort.
