Y sulcata tort is a little over a year, I was lookig at the different greens at the store and I saw spring mix and it has spinach in it. I heard that they couldn't have spinach, is that true?

Spinach like everything in life is fine in moderation. If you have any concerns you can always pick it out, or buy one that does not have spinach in it. My local 99 cent store has a lot of spring mix in right now and there is no spinach in them.

Agreed the spring mix I buy doesn't have it in it either. But with that beeing said, as long as your tort is getting a variety it won't hurt him/her.

The problem with spinach is that its high in oxalates. Oxalates bind with calcium and make it unavailable to the tortoises body. On the other hand, its a pretty good green. Its okay to feed some spinach every once in a while as part of a varied diet, but also make sure your tortoise gets lots of sun and calcium supplementation. Just don't feed large amounts of it everyday to an indoor tortoise with no UV.
