i bought a vertical standing entertainment center from a thrift store. the top shelf had sliding wooden doors, so it was already a perfect pre-made hide! it's 2 1/2'w, 4'l and 1'd. i just set it on it's back, took the shelves out, put an outdoor paint on it and set it on some milk crates! i also added a small second floor, so he wouldn't eat the substrate and for exercise, which he seems to enjoy !
first picture is the outside area. i have an uvb tube light set up and a 100w CHE in the dome (which is usually on the other side).
the second picture is how i have it set up currently. i use to have 2 russians in this table, but now just one, for the simple fact that i wanted them to have more space. i do put the ramp up sometimes when i feed him, he climbs right up the ramp
the third picture is the outside set up with the ramp. i glued popsickle sticks to the board for stairs it seems to work well and gives them a good workout. i like to feed him up here so he doesn't consume any substrate with his food.
the fourth picture is the hide box with the second floor in it. it's either another place to feed or another place to sleep, cool off or hide
fifth picture is hide box without second story. added additional hides when there were 2 tortoises.
