What a cutie! Look at him going after that dandelion blom! From what I can see in the pictures, looks like a healthy hatchling. :tort:

Wow. He should not have been sold yet. I would keep him in a brooder box set up for another week or so until that umbilical scar closes up.

I use a plastic shoe box with four quarter inch holes drilled around the top rim. Line it with paper towels and dampen them with a water sprayer. Put some greens in the center of the box with him and keep the box somewhere warm, like in an incubator or a warm enclosure. Strive for a temp of mid to high 80s, and don't worry about a basking light yet. You might also want to put some Neosporin on that area. It looks pretty raw and infected.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Hope we can help.

Thanks guys, I put him a shoe box and applied some neosporin on his belly. How old do estimate he is? The guy that sold him to me said between 2 and 6 weeks. My guess is under 2 weeks.

If he was taken good care of, his growth says about two weeks old.

The belly should have been closed within five days of crawling out of the egg.

Heres a new pic of his belly. When I soaked him last night with warm water the scab fell off. In the picture his foot looks deformed but its just some Mazuri stuck between his toes.

Yep! He's a young-un! this is a very tender age with lots of pit-falls! Follow Toms threads and you should do well.

Good Luck and Welcome to the Forum!

I'm not sure about the weight someone else hopefully can educate us on this. But the umbilical area is looking a lot better compared to your 1st pic. Do you know how long s/he is?

He's perfect. They grow at very different rates, so I doubt there is a normal weight/age scale. Does anybody know of one?
