My first Crested Gecko hatchlings have begun to arrive :) I have 5 out of the egg right now that hatched within the last week and a half. I even had one arrive on Halloween that has been dubbed *Pumpkin Jack* :) They are sooo tiny. I have several more eggs cooking and two of my girls are still laying monthly.

This is the youngest, just out of the egg on 11/2, which was my roomie's birthday ;)

They are ALL wonderful! Are they as friendly as say... a bearded dragon?

I know this is an old post - but wondering about crested geckos :) Nick really really wants one, so I'd like to do some research before we make a decision. Anja could please post what their little homes look like? Sorry to ask you this, but am so curious. They're so tiny and so pretty looking! It's definitely the type of reptile I can handle :p

Yup I can do that. My babies are raised individually in small Kritter Keepers until they are about 12grams.

These are the ones on the top two shelves.

Then I graduate to an XXL Kritter Keeper until they are about 25 grams or so. Those are the pink and turquoise topped ones on the 3rd shelf. Once they are 25 grams, which is almost adult size I can move them into 12x12x18 or 18x18x18 Exo Terra tanks OR 20-30 gallon long tanks turned up on their ends to make vertical tanks and use a screen front.

This is a very simple setup in a 12x12x18 Exo Terra tank.

And a simple setup for a juvenile in a 10 gallon turned on its end.

And a little more in depth setup in an Exo Terra

yup that's right....the only other thing to realllllly keep in mind is that temperatures OVER 78-80 degrees Fahrenheit will stress out the gecko, and eventually kill him.

I know you are in Dubai, so unless you have a good reliable AC a gecko won't last long.

Our AC is "THE BOMB" :p But I'll chat to nick about it, humidity is a given especially in Summer, but temps can definitely be controlled. Thanks though, more info the better :p

You dont want constant high humidity, but 50-60% on average. I mist mine 1-2 times per day. (morning and evening) Temps of 65-70 are good for average temps, just not over 75 for long periods of time.
