I'd never feed them to my torts as the commercial grounds are often treated for all kinds of stuff, but they do look like some european edible mushrooms. Can anyone id those?

To me they resemble very delicious and extremely expensive and sought after wild mushrooms found in forests of central europe. I haven't been to a real forest for decades! Since moving to US. Here I've lived in Florida and Texas only which neither have the kinds of forest I used to enjoy spending time in, walking. There was just something so peaceful, refreshing about it. Here I enjoy things that only "here can offer" (very valuable life's lesson). Again, I'd never pick anything from commercial property. I was just curious.

Okay so I think I can articulate the emotion I felt when I looked at the pics....I see the cap of the mushroom as swollen, like skin that is hot with infection, ready to split and then underside is that yellow infected color....eewww, just not appealing to me...okay, I think I have gone way into the mushroom pic..your interpretation is much more pleasant....lol...:p

Very different emotions over here. I used to go mushroom picking in the fall. Early morning, at daybreak, in big ancient forest, all kinds of beautiful fresh scents, sounds of birds and dew drops falling off the fern leaves on the ground... Birds waking up.... Every time one finds a mushroom it's like discovering a great treasure. Joy, relaxation, nature all around... Nothing, but good memories
