How can I tell if Mac has mites? Yesterday when i was checking him out (i do this daily) i saw a really really small little tiny white bug (almost clearish looking) run across him. I waited to see it again and I squished it. Ive seen this bug a few times on him but never in large quantities or anything, just a stray weird small very small white little bug. I thought it must have been something in the soil since he lives outdoors.

Theres no way i would ever be able to get a picture of this bug, it moves too quickly and its way too small to get a pic of.

I googled it, it could be that but in not positive. His skin isn't irritated at all and he's eating well.

From your description, white/clear and small then it's very likely it's a springtail. I wouldn't worry about it. Even in large numbers these guys are harmless.
