Medical well being of star tortoise in India

HI friends , as u all know that now in India its winter ,so is it natural for the tortoise to sleep most of the time in its hiding place and come only out to eat and any special care to be taken as I herd him sneeze . and can any one suggest any vitamin supplements for my star which are available in India as there are no vets to treat the creature.

Just be sure you are keeping the tortoise's habitat warm enough. I'm pretty sure star tortoises don't hibernate, so if you have the habitat set up correctly, he shouldn't be slowing down, or hiding all the time.

Give them enough sun light. That's what I've been doing. They love to bask in the sun. Just make sure that it has both, a direct sun basking area, as well as a shaded area. Also, keep the water around, when basking. If they feel too hot, they'll jump in the water to cool off. Also, it'll help the water to get to the local temperature.
