Top is a nice looking male
Bottom is a nice looking female
Nice looking couple, do I see babies in the near future?

I didn't realize these where the two you got from me.
The big one is a confirmed male that has flashed and fathered most of my babies.
He is also very concave.
The smaller, brightly colored one my wife reported it mounting a female. I've never seen it flash. He also looks male.
So, big one is confirmed and small one is very ,very likely also male.
Maybe more traits will be obvious as they mature.

Male and female. Ed maybe you made a mistake and took the wrong tortoise to its new owner. Easily remedied.
Bet your male at home has been celebrating his lifestyle for the he last week or so and now reality is going to kick in.

Also Ed, do these northerns have the spurs that we talk about that are supposedly only associated with the Brazilians.

That big one is the one looking female so you sure it's the poppa of your babies?

What I see is a small brightly colored male with a long tail, concaved and slightly hour glassed shell and elongated anal notch. I also see a short stubby tail with a nice rounded egg laying anal notch on that larger tort.
