Looking at getting a tortoise

Hi I’ve been contemplating getting a tortoise , it’s a horsfield tortoise I’ve been looking at , what kind of enclosure should I have , heat lamp/UV light etc, just want to make sure I’m buying the right things before I go ahead with the purchase

A lot of views.....it's great that you are planning ahead....

They are mostly referred to here as Russians I think. I would nudge you to the care sheets at the top of each section. Read & ask ?'s if you have them. They go over enclosures (makes yours escape-proof for a Russian), diet, temps, light and humidity...everything!


The level of professional grade talent here is second to none. You will see and learn a lot just cruising the threads.


Don't be discouraged by a lack of responses, folks here have seen that same Thread Title a million times............LOL
