My tortoise has really long nails and I was told by people at my local pet store that I should just let them grow. I have rocks in there enclosure but they don't seem to be doing anything to the nails, I wanted to file them a little with a delicate nail file that I have. Should I do it or just see what happens?

While others with experience are comfortable doing this, I am not. I haven't done it, or seen it done, but I just started keeping tortoises seven months ago.
I would put a rough brick or tile where he has to walk over it, eventually they should naturally file themselves.

Mine has long nails too. I take him outside on the concrete a lot and that helps
