Hi all! Just recently joined. I have a 3-toed box turtle who I am trying to make happier. I want to add live plants to her tank, anyone have any suggestions?
I also added moist potting soil and mulch to her tank- she is so much happier. It’s so adorable seeing her dig and get all comfy!

Most tortoises walk in a path that consists of mostly the outer limits of their enclosure. Around and around.
IF I were to place plants, I'd use hardy ones that do well in low light like Spider plants or Pothos. And I'd plant them near the center of that enclosure.

Live plants help with humidity in addition to increasing turtle happiness, wise choice!

I second pothos. For aesthetics, pothos will grow wild and provide viney vegetation that you can arrange around the tank, looks nice. Hibiscus is a nice edible plant and it can be trimmed short. I've also been known to pot up dandelions and weeds from the yard and stick them in with the turtles that like to munch the vegetation.

I keep my plants in a pot and bury the pot as far down as it goes.
