Just curious to see what most people use for lighting/heating for your tortoise. I have a 40 gallon tank with a 150 watt basking bulb and a 10.0 uvb bulb as well as a 150 watt night heat light. She seems to be comfortable and is very active. Does anyone use anything different?

I like the mercury vapor bulbs that provide heat and UVB in 1. Whatever works for your setup though.

This sounds like way too much for a russian in a 40 gallon tank.

What are your 4 temps? Warm side, cool side, basking area and overnight low? How cold does your house get at night? Russians usually don't need night heat. What type of 10.0 bulb are you using? Coil type?
