Hi everyone. I am getting Benjamin Latte the tort tomorrow. AHHHHH.
HE is 5 weeks old and one and a half inches.I will add LOADS of photos tomorrow.

OP has better photos in a post in the "photo" section. I was concerned because it sure looks like Perlite she mentioned the tortoise has eaten at least some of it.

Very cute. Congrats. Curious, what's the white stuff in the substrate?
I think it's white calcium stones. That's what the breeder said.It was especially made for tortoises so I don't know why they would put perlite in.

The poop and your tortoise look great.
I am not familiar with the calcium stones. Maybe a product not sold here or maybe it has just escaped my notice. If the breeder added that stuff on purpose I guess it must be safe.

I'm not familiar with the substrate stones, but I would not use them. Torts tend to like white things and if s/he ate them, I don't know, but could possibly cause impactions. Not all breeders are that smart when it comes to tortoises.
But, like I said, I'm not familiar with it.
