Found this today while picking up poop out of the yard. She is only 13 inches long. And the egg was laying on top of the ground. She did not try to bury it at all. Any ideas??? It looks like the egg has two layers.

Cool maybe its an excess of eggs? Or the body trying to remove empty eggs or damaged ones?? Lol it could be none of those

Interesting, I have never heard of a 13" sulcata ever laying an egg.

Maybe a dumb question but this thread makes me wonder, do females lay eggs if there's no male?
Yes females can lay eggs with no male ever present, obviously they wont be fertile.
