It looks like it is designed for cats, not tortoises. I would feel safer using one made for reptiles. I don't think they expect cats to pee and poop on the mat. It says it warms to 102 F, which is too hot. One of the reviews said it started a fire. It also doesn't come in as large a size as I would want for a sulcata. The heating pad I use is Kane. It's expensive but I think it is a safer choice.

I've never heard of that one.

Because of the nature of these devices, I'm willing to spend the extra money for the built in safety and proven track record of the Kane brand mats. I've talked with Craig Kane, the owner and product designer of Kane Mfg. several times, and I appreciate the insight and safety that he puts into his products.
