Just rescued yesterday

I just rescued a Russian tortoise yesterday I'm not sure of its age or it sex I'm wondering if anyone could tell me why its tail is tucked or off to the side if this is normal behavior I've been looking in my research for answers and I have yet to find it I'm hoping someone can help me out thanks in advance

Yes very normal.
Post pic of his tail area and we can sex him for you. Likely a male.

I was told it was likely a health thing so I have been stressing about it and not finding any answers in the research I've done

Thats awesome! I am scrambling to learn about him as much and as fast as I can. Is there a way to tell age? I have always had snakes and rescued reptiles but he is out 1st tortoise

No way to really tell the age. He looks like an adult though so at least 5, probably older. Also, welcome to the forum.

I was told less than a year. He is super friendly well eat from my hand . I had to get better lights. Whole I wait for stuff from Amazon. He looks like he is in rough shape.. but I could be wrong. Still lots to learn. And thank you! I am happy to be here and not alone on this new adventure
