By now im sure many have seen or read it on the news. However, yesterday, weve had yet another tragedy. Last year, hurricane Sandy more or less destroyed our state. Went over a month with no electric and water. Weeks of gas rations and driving on empty. We spent all of the fall, winter and spring, working around the clock to rebuild our state, and especially our beloved Jersey Shore.Yesterday, a 6 alarm fire, essentially wiped out Seaside.
For us Jersey folks, the "Jersey Shore" is not really fist pumping steroid heads getting tan. Seaside is a place every kid spends their summers, i have endless memories of friends and family there, its a place thats impossible to not love.
30+ businesses, homes and 60% of the boardwalk was destroyed in the fire. This is so very frustrating to so many here. Many of us are just in shock, there is a feeling in the air today here, that i simply cant verbalize. Weve been gut punched while were down, weve been washed away, blown away and now burned away...but, were still here! We will rebuild!!!
