Hi,
I've had Bert for nearly 2 years now. I took him on because the person who originally had him didn't know how to look after him. When they got him he was just shy of 12 weeks old.
When he came to me he was tiny and weight about 34grams. 2 years later he weighs an average about 125gram and his carapace is 11cm long.
He's very active and I let him roam the house and take him out side when it's warm. He also had a very vateid diet. He out of his enclosure more then in it really as once he sees me he wants to come out.
Now the thing I've noticed is his shell size and weight seem quite large or a tortoise that is only just 2 years old. The person who got him said that he knew the person and saw the eggs Incubating and as I know them well I trust this to be true. Is Bert just on the large side or is he a different slightly bigger breed. (I'm also aware that he may very well be a she and its difficult to sex them so young.)
Anyways, here are some photos to get an idea of his size and colourings
