Is LED/ambient lighting also necessary ?

Hi all,
Another question- reading @Tom s lighting post, I am curious about the necessity of the LED/ambient lighting- is this a must? I have the 65 watt flood for my basking bulb which seems to make it decently bright in there, and will be adding the UVB strip. Is the additional lighting a must-have, or a nice to have? Thanks!!

I think its a must have. The basking & UVB light will be over one area, any sufficiently sized enclosure will be too large for those alone to light up the rest of the enclosure.

I agree with Jaizei, but that is probably not a surprise if you've already read the care sheets.

The UV tube won't be on all the time, and incandescent flood bulbs are both dim and not the right color spectrum to make it look like "day light" in the enclosure. The LED bulbs brighten up the whole enclosure all day long, even when the UV tube is off, and they offer the correct lighting "color" to correct the yellowish basking bulb.
