If you mean coconut coir then yes. The coir is usually finer then the fiber. More like saw dust where the fiber is usually strands, like hair. I like the coir the best, as sometimes the fiber gets wrapped around a leg or if they eat it, comes out while pooping and usually has to be pulled out. Coir is just my preference.

A garden supply will probably be your cheapest option. Pet stores (sold as Eco-earth, plantation soil, etc) is typically the most expensive.

I've always gotten it at the pet store. Never thought about getting it anywhere else but as a college student always thought "my tort better love me for paying this much for stuff he'll poop on in 10 minutes!" :p do you know if Lowes or home depot carries it?

Lowes and HD don't carry it here. You have to go to a gardening store or Nursery.
