Hi I finally brought home Vinny about two weeks ago. I bought him from a breeder here in California. She gave me a lot of information and on top of that gave me some cactus and rose petals. It was definitely worth the drive.

Vinny has been eating everyday and going to the bathroom without a problem. I bath him every other day. He definitely enjoys the bath time. After putting in the second light he has been active through out his indoor enclosure. I am not sure if Vinny is a boy or girl yet. I am assuming he is a boy buy looking at his tale. I will post photos later and ask if you all can tell.

Please let me know if i need to add anything or fix something. I'll greatly appreciate it. 4.jpg 5.jpg 3.jpg 2.jpg 1.jpg

Oh my goodness, what an adorable little dude! :<3: I'm glad you were able to get him from someone who has great information for a new keeper. He looks like he has a great enclosure too! And I see you're monitoring the temp and humidity, which is great. :)

The only thing I worry about is the little house up the ramp. Can he climb over those walls and take a spill? Russians are well known climbers, so it might be something to worry about? It looks like he's pretty small in comparison right now, but it may be an issue as he grows older. The more experienced keepers here will definitely be more helpful, but I think that's a pretty awesome setup! Did you build the ramp and house yourself? I may borrow some ideas for when I expand my tort table. If you haven't discovered it yet, let me recommend The Tortoise Table, which can help you identify safe-for-tort plants to give him the best possible diet. Well done so far!

Thank you @Oxalis I was thinking the same thing about the ramp. I build the ramp myself. For the enclosure i used an IKEA Hack. The Tortoise table is an awesome website.

Looks good to me. I see three potential issues.
1. I think he will eventually figure out how to climb out of the enclosures using that upper deck fencing.
2. Where is the humid hide? Gotta have a humid hide.
3. A lot of people recommend fake plants. I don't. Mine all try to eat them. By the time you realize this is an issue, you already have a problem.

Is this what you were looking for from me?

Tom is so awesome. ;D I agree; I wouldn't use fake plants, but then again, I still have to add some to my enclosure. Just got a spider plant yesterday. How are you making the humid hide? Way to get creative with Ikea.
