Is there anything I can put in his home or do to help with keeping his nail claws short?

Hello and welcome. We'd like to know who you are and what species you keep. We have an introduction section, and it would be great to post there so we can all give you a warm welcome.

What species and size tortoise are we talking about here? Can we see a pic of the nails in question? Some species like russian tortoises typically have longer nails for digging and nothing needs to be done about it.

Pieces of slate or sandstone will help wear down claws and also make for a good basking spot under your heat lamp.

Thank you for the info and I'll head to the induction section. I have a horsefield tortoise who is 1 year old. His nails aren't to long atm just wanted to prepare
