First, I know that I need to improve my red-foot tort's diet. I know what I am feeding him isn't the very best for him and I want to feed him the good stuff. So if you could tell me some things to get so I can right them down I can get a combonation every week and give him something good.

Second, sprinkling food with calcium and vitamins. The pet store we got him at didn't say anything about it, but from my research and looking on here, I think it's important. So what stuff do I need to sprinkle on, how much, and when (like daily, weekly, monthly)?

Third, what plants should I plant that are tort friendly. I want to add those to his diet. What plants? What part of the plants are edible and which are harmful to my little guy? So on.

Thank you! :tort:

1 & 3. What to get or grow? Heck, there are a million things they eat and like, and not much they SHOULD NOT have. There are some ideas and lists in the Library- https://sites.google.com/site/tortoiselibrary/nutrition/shopping-list.

2. The better overall diet you can offer, the less important supplementation is. If their diet is balanced, varied, fresh, and colorful, then usually a small pinch of vitamins and calcium a week or so is fine. If for some reason you HAVE to offer a lower quality diet, offer the supplements a little more often. The key is to offer small amounts at a time.
