I never thought this would happen so soon but I have added a new species to my herd! Picked up this little guy today and I already adore him! Now I need to become a radiated tortoise expert... with your help of course! :)

You thought redfoots were addicting...welcome to the next level! Very nice addition.
Do you have Redfoots only? My husband wants me to get different types of tortoises..LOL! But I love Redfoots...I do love torts in all!

Gorgeous! Lucky you. My favorite feature of this species is the black hat. I like that part even better than the beautiful carapace colors.

You are going to need to keep us updated with lots of pics. :)

My little ray of sunshine! :)
Aprox 1yo/ 2.75inches/ 66g
I hope he ends up with really awesome coloration, I picked him out of the group because he had tons of rays starting and his high dome shape!
I'm having a tough time finding him a name though...

Fantastic Whitney. They're fun especially when you spray then down. They rise up, and straight up to stead away from the water. Fun to watch them. They may seem shy for a first couple years but they will warm up over time.

I'm actually really surprised how outgoing mine has been. I've heard they tend to be shy but I must have gotten lucky!

I had heard the same thing. Mine are not at all shy. They are in the way every time I service their cages. I like the way they come a running when they see me.
I think you picked a good one. It is going to be very nice.
