I was worried about him because it was supposed to flood. It didn't. I hope it got enough rain to bloom or at least have a 🌈 he's stationed there.

I was also worried about my friends here on TFO. Everyone woke me up in the middle of the night last night for 🤗🙏 So far I'm seeing pretty good news 🌈😊yeah

I am seeing some severe flooding purported to be in Death Valley, on the news. Roaring water, destroyed roads, stranded people etc. Pictures don't lie, right? Yes, they sometimes do! But these seem authentic.

I am seeing some severe flooding purported to be in Death Valley, on the news. Roaring water, destroyed roads, stranded people etc. Pictures don't lie, right? Yes, they sometimes do! But these seem authentic.

I'm sure I'll be hearing about it. I don't doubt it that there was flooding in certain places but maybe not widespread. My grandson was safe last I heard. I live at the edge of a flood plain so I was really worried about him and my TFO friends. That kind of rain can be so destructive in dry desert areas. I'm hoping for a bright spot because of the rain in a very serious drought.

I looked it up and we got 6.64 inches of rain from this one storm. I tried to screen shot the almanac for my area, but I can't get enough info in one image, so I will list some previous annual rainfall totals for my area:
We usually only get rain from November until about March, so that is why the "rainy season" totals span two years. Fall into spring, but these are one year's worth of rain:
2022-2023 last season we had an exceptionally heavy year at : 19.02 inches
2021-2022: 8.16 for the year.
2020-2021: 2.91 "Drought" year.

I was up north on a job when all the rain hit, but all my people tell me that everything is fine.

The most noteworthy occurrence was that my normally docile mild mannered bees were acting like killer bees for some reason. I use screened bottom boards, and since we thought there would be colder temps and high winds, I had my wife suit up and slide the bottom boards in and strap the hives to the stand which was heavily weighted with cinder blocks. The bees went on the attack. I'll be opening the hives up and inspecting tomorrow, so we will see if it was storm related, or maybe they perceived the coming earthquakes.

It will be interesting to see why 😊or maybe they didn't like the change to their hive at the same time all that was going on. But I'm glad to see another friend's home is ok going through Hillary.🤗wow

Glad everyone is ok....and don't take offense, I laugh at everything, being equal opportunity and all.

I like California....been there a couple times...in the 80's when we took her little sister to Disneyland and again 10 yrs ago or so. The places I went, the folks were nice, the land is gorgeous along the coast. San Fran was even nice in '12 or '13 when my youngest daughter and I went out for a couple of weeks.

The ground moves though.....I don't live where the building you live in can come crashing down in the middle of the night or where there is bad tax behavior or water creeps into your home at night.

See how that works?

We don't live in earthquake-prone areas, any city, flood zone, hurricane paths, tornado ally, the Darien gap.......

Those are some pretty wild precip rates over the years that Tom posted.....no consistency. I don't examine them but I would have thought the rates would have been more "even" year to year.

I guess I was lucky that the damage passed my property by. I've been watching the local news and evidently there was quite a bit of damage around the city - trees uprooted, flooding, etc. I saw none of that here.

And well ...I should have been able to feel an earthquake in southern Ohio because everyone else did. I was sitting cross legged on a kitchen chair unlike everyone else that felt the dang thing. They all had both feet on the floor.They said it felt like a washer went off kilter. I didn't feel a thing 😜 my mom was yelling at my little brothers upstairs to behave their selves. For once they weren't up to no durn good.😊
