Hi I'm pretty new to the forum and have been doing lots of research to check that I'm doing things right for my Russian tortoise. When I got Sheldon I was never told he would need humidity . So I've now made Sheldon a humid box and humidity is at 83%, he has an open top homemade table and the humidity there is at 60% I'm struggling to get it higher. Anyway my question is should Sheldon's box have a higher humidity and do I need to try and get his table more humid when he has his humid box?? Thanks in advance.

Those humidity levels are fine for a russian of any age.

If Sheldon is an adult, say over 4", then you don't need to worry much about this as long as he stays hydrated through soaks, self-drinking, or both.

Thank you for the reply. He's only 2.5 inches (i say he but time will tell) I've had him for a year and I feel so guilty that I haven't been doing this for him.
