humid and moist for how long?

Ok so quick question. Since all torts grow at different rates, and mine is a slow grower. At what size do they no longer need to have a humid hide/enclosure? Or do they always need this?

If I remember correctly, according to Tom, until they are about two or 8 inches. However, they should always have some humidity, just not so high. I believe Tom will put his out during the day when they are a bit older, around 4 inches? and then put them in their humid enclosure for the night. Hopefully Tom will see this and correct me if I'm wrong.
