How to make a small burrow

How do you make small safe burrow? I have a hard plastic kiddy pool and I would like to build a burrow, but I don't think my soil is strong enough for a tort made burrow. I have a male Russian tortoise if that makes a difference. Thanks!

you want to build on in the kiddie pool? dig a hole, take a palstic container cut a door in one side, put in hole, upside down, and angle it just right, cover it with dirt.. or a flower pot in its side works too.

If you mean from scratch, you would probably have to kiln dry it to keep it from dissolving.

A clay pot from a garden center might be easier. Bury it into the substrate so there is a lot inside of it.
Or, if you have the means, you can cut it in half the long way and set it right on the soil.
Even a black plastic plant pot works.
