how do I delete a thread?

This is probably a stupid question but how do I delete a thread that I started? I cant figure it out XD

at the bottom of the post/thread there is the word delete. However, members only have a certain amount of time to delete or edit their post/threads, after that time, which I don't know what it is, you can ask a mod to edit or delete.
