What kind of tortoise ? Pyramiding is caused by low or no humidity and a bad diet. So whats the humidity in your enclosure and the four temperatures in your enclosure ?

What pyramiding your torts have is there to stay.

Don't sweat it. They still look fine and as long as you care for them properly they will be perfectly healthy and happy.

Hi there,

From my reading, the pre-existing pyramiding is not treatable, but it will slowly subside if you manage to control the humidity as well as frequent soaking! :D

With smooth new growth it will become less evident but it will always be there. Pyramiding is a combination of factors consisting of feeding, lighting, temperature and humidity/hydration.

They are fine.

Members have mentioned that a sulcata starts to grow smooth past a certain point anyway. 10" if I remember correctly.

There is nothing you can do about what is already there and the growth won't continue like that anyway.

Just enjoy them as is :D

Now if you ever deal with hatchlings, that is a different story. You would raise them differently than the way you raised your current ones.

They look ok . I would not worry about the pyramiding . If you get babies you have to keep then humid .
