My perfect husband surprised me with a trip to the zoo for Valentine's Day to see the tortoises, oh yea and the other animals!

Lovely! Where is this? I'd like to visit and see the torts sometime, they look lovely and the giraffe! I haven't been to the zoo in years, I'm already excited!

This is in downtown Houston across from the med center. It was a gorgeous day for the zoo with temps in the mid 70s and all the animals outside enjoying the sun. When you go..try first thing in the morning before the crowds arrive around 11.

I have not been to the Houston zoo in a hot minute! I don't remember seeing all them tortoises last time I was there. I like the Lufkin zoo. Have you been there?

Mike - We are new to Texas so this was my 1st trip to the zoo. I will definetly look up Lufkin and go. I love zoos! Thanks for the recommendation

Awesome! Sure wish my zoo had that many torts. I don't even think they have torts. Maybe that was when I had no idea what a tortoise was so I just didn't notice!
