Several members uses horse hay pellets,including me. Just be sure there isn't any unwanted ingredients and then soak before feeding.

Has anyone used something similar to this? Thoughts? $20 for 40 lbs. bags.


I haven't been able to find cubes with the hay I want. I don't want alfalfa because it is too high in protein to feed daily, and to stemmy. Timothy hay is also too stemmy. The shredding process before making them into cubes should correct the stemminess problem for large tortoises like adult sulcatas, but I still don't want that much protein. I usually use Bermuda or orchard grass pellets and soak them before mixing them in with greens.
