Hissing Tortoise

It's funny. I have two cherry head redfoots that hiss almost every time I pick them up. I think they are part cat haha. Well I thought Id just share that Does anyone else's torts hiss?

A lot of species hiss, but russian babies put them all to shame in my experience lol.

yeah, mine hiss too sometimes. Especially if it is time for their soak and they are buried a little. I have even put them down into their soaking container, and even though Im not touching them, hear an occasional late hiss. lol

Yep, happens all the time. Perfectly normal if they're startled.
